We believe that, in a world molded by systemic oppression of femme, LGBTQIA+, and BIPOC people, making direct payments to people in these oppressed classes is a small step we can all take to create equality.
With this thought guiding our actions, in 2019, we started a small effort to directly help people in need. We started very small, contributing funds only to people we personally knew. As our efforts have grown, we have been able to contribute to folks we don’t know as well, though folks we know are still prioritized.
Who do you help?
Over the years, we have contributed to many femme, LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC individuals. While we prioritize helping people we personally know, we have been able to help out strangers as well.
How are funds distributed?
We primarily send direct payments to individuals via the PayPal platform. We also make contributions through an app called ‘Samaritan’, which connects people facing housing insecurities with financial support.
How much can you help?
We can generally only give $20 at a time, however, when we have more, we give more, and we have been able to give up to $100.
I want to help!
Yay!!! We accept funding support via PayPal at paypal.me/helpedpeople.
I want to help, but I only have a few dollars to contribute.
Yay!!! We are funded a few dollars at a time! Every dollar helps! Just send whatever help you can affort via PayPal to paypal.me/helpedpeople.
Is my contribution tax-deductible?
Nope. Setting up a non-profit is expensive, and we spend our money on directly helping people instead.
Can I find out who you have helped?
To protect the privacy of the people we help, we don’t share their personal information. We can, however, provide a summary report which includes relevant demographic information.
